Create a Good Password

Consider if you use this password for other accounts eg: social media, online shopping or other websites including Internet Banking. 

Shared passwords across multiple sites is the number 1 way that data can be compromised

 

How to make a secure password

  • Use at least 8 characters (the longer the better)
  • Include a mix of capitals and lowercase letters
  • Include at least one numeral
  • Include a special character (- , . # *)

 

Make it memorable

To make your password easier to remember trying combining 2 or 3 words or numbers together with a separator, maybe 2 of your favourite things and a memorable date but remember don't use your birthdate!

For example:

dogs-camping-2001

It can not only keep a record of all your passwords so you don't have to remember, it can also generate passwords for you that are very random and extremely secure. It comes with all recent Macs, iPhones and iPads.
